Being Woven: Practices for Sensing and Surrendering

Modernity heavily conditions us to believe that we are separate, self-contained, in control - so much so that we see these delusions as aspects of reality, as opposed to beliefs. The deeper reality—the one that breathes through every tide, root, and fungal thread—is that we are already entangled, already woven into a vast metabolism that exceeds our understanding. These practices are not about learning something new; they are about remembering what has always been true and beginning to cultivate visceral responsibility toward all our living and nonliving kin.

Through breath, movement, and surrender, these invitations ask us to soften into the waters of entanglement, to let go of the illusion of solidity, and to allow ourselves to be moved. To be carried. To be recalibrated by the rhythms that have been holding us all along.

As you enter, notice the parts of you that resist. The grasping for certainty, the impulse to define, the fear of dissolution. They, too, are part of the weave. No need to force them away—just let the currents take what needs to be taken, let the threads hold what needs to be held. Attempts at perfection or purity are only conditioned impulses to try to get control over what could never be controlled. And you can allow them to be present without indulging in them or trying to eliminate them.

Find your place. Take a breath. Feel the web that already holds you. Then, allow yourself to be gently tugged and moved—not as a singular being, but as a thread among countless threads, as a ripple in the unfolding whole.

You do not have to do the weaving. You are being woven.
