The first iteration of this inquiry involved inviting 8 artists to create a library of artistic, somatic and metaphoric practices to aid a process of neuro-decolonization. The cohort met online for 4 hours per month to accompany each other’s research and creation process from March to October 2024. In order to be selected for the inquiry, the artists had to go through the ‘Facing Human Wrongs’ Climate Complexity and Relational Accountability online course, which was designed by the Geturing Towards Decolonial futures Colective and uses a depth education approach. Depth education is a pedagogy that centers on addressing the harm we have inflicted on each other and the planet, intentionally or unintentionally.
This residency was curated and directed by Azul Carolina Duque, one of the members of the GTDF collective.
